Metal Band of the Week: Imperanon
This week’s band du semaine is another melodic death outfit from Finland. I’d describe their sound as a cross between Wintersun and Norther, so if you like either of those you’ll probably enjoy Imperanon. More of the same goodness: fast paced riffing, rough (but not over the top) vocals and that subtle, whimsical element that can only come from the Nordic lands.
Their 2004 release "Stained" should fit nicely among your other melo-death albums. Sadly, we won’t be hearing any new material from them as they disbanded in 2007. On the upside, the guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari is now working with Wintersun so his skills shan’t be going to waste.
